This year’s roster features iconic artists such as the Pierce Brothers, who bring an irresistible energy with their folk-inspired tunes. Joining them are Dog Trumpet, adding a touch of rock legacy; Rod McCormack bringing the bluegrass, and the soulful blues of Hussy Hicks. Jimmy Dowling, Melody Pool, The Buckleys, along with the festival’s visionary Lou Bradley and many more fantastic artists and acts will grace the stages, each offering their unique musical narratives.
Nimbin Roots Festival is not just about music; it’s a cultural experience. Alongside the musical performances, attendees can enjoy vibrant markets, engaging workshops, and street performers, enriching their festival journey. The festival’s setting in Nimbin adds to its allure, known for its rich history in the arts and a community that champions an alternative, environmentally conscious lifestyle.
Lou Bradley, festival founder, and lifelong musician, shared her enthusiasm for this year’s event: “In light of the current situation in the music industry where the festival giants are canceling, we believe there’s no better time to stick to our ethos and keep on offering a small, quality and unique music festival for people to be able to afford to come for a few days and visit the beautiful Byron Bay hinterland to have an experience like no other.”

This year at Nimbin Roots Festival as part of our Peace and Love parade, we are celebrating the human body and all its vulnerability. Particularly bringing awareness to vulnerability when it comes to the body and violence against women as well as early breast cancer awareness.
To celebrate, we are opening up one of the festival venues – The Bush Theatre Cafe, as a ‘clothes optional’ venue on festival on Friday night and all day Saturday and Saturday night.
There’ll be body painters, Naked DJ and the world famous Pricasso will stage a performance piece and be available for portraits. Check the program for full details.
Come and get painted up for a good cause and have a whole lot of colourful fun with some respectful, open minded people. Who knows, maybe all painted or unpainted bodies will be able to convoy in a stroll from The Bush Theatre Cafe up into town and join the parade at 3pm.

Peace & Love
Every year on Festival Saturday we dress up in our most colourful and parade the Main Street of Nimbin with our home made banners singing songs of Peace and Love. There’s prizes for best dressed including vouchers and a double festival pass for the winner! What’s not to like about a peace and love dress up parade!
